Inspired by the painting of Self-Portrait by Vincent van Gogh in Arles, south of France in January 1889, and now resides in Paris since 1986. 

"You will need to study [the picture] for a time. I hope you will notice that my facial expressions have become much calmer, although my eyes have the same insecure look as before, or so it appears to me." - Vincent van Gogh

   

 

HIS CYPRESSES FROM SAINT-RÉMY

Inspired by the painting of Cypresses by Vincent van Gogh in Saint-Rémy, France in late June 1889. 

"Cypresses still preoccupy me, I should like to do something with them like my canvases of sunflowers"; he went on to say, "They are beautiful in line and proportion like an Egyptian obelisk." - Vincent wrote to his brother, Theo 1889
